SHANNON'S STORY

Shannon is a mid-western girl with a big-city free spirit and a love of creative pursuits.

As a child, more often than not, she would be found in a dance class, creating jewelry or designing clothing–anything that allowed her to bring a vision to life. Encouraged by her parents to find a 'more practical' use for her talents, she pursued a career in journalism, which led her to not only pick up a camera, but to fall in love with photography and the art of capturing and manipulating light.

Her photography has been recognized by organizations such as the Missouri Press Association and has placed at regional juried photography shows.

By day, you will find her working for a local regional planning commission where she uses her creative energy to wordsmith press releases, design external publications and photograph various organization events.

By night, you will find her spending time with her husband and the couple's three dogs, each of which are named after a one-hit-wonder of the 1990s. Rico Suave is a 6-year-old puggle. Harvey Danger is a 4-year-old Boston Terrier, and the baby of the family is Vanilla Ice–a miniature beagle.
